Tonight //
We are young //
So let’s set the world on fire //
We can burn brighter //
Than the sun //
"We are young" by FUN //

The legendary look for the source of eternal youth, the continuous improvements of cosmetics research, plastic surgery… //
All this and much more suggests us about the willing of humanity to never get old //
Or the attempt to slow down a bit this process, at least //
Lately, a radically opposite trend surfaced //
Conquering the fashion world first, as the usual and ideal testing ground, then spreading at a quiet but firm pace //
Ari Seth Cohen with his “Advanced Style" blog (an eponymous book, launched a few months ago) was certainly among the first to rise awareness around the ageless elegance and coolness of some unexpected style icons //
It’s like, all of a sudden, being young is no more such a big affaire //
Youngsters and tiny, pale ladies’n boys disappear from the limelight to be replaced by all the Carmen Dell’Orefice and Iris Apfel out there //
One of the latest news connected to this phenomenon is that French fashion house Lanvin decided to pick up non-models aged 18 to 81 to promote its FW 2012-13 collection //
We love contrasts, we love seeing creative struggles between sometimes opposite strategies, becouse all this can’t but both properly feed our personal imagery and be a positive incentive to never settle for what one has already achieved //
